An Introduction to FIRC
Welcome to the website of the FRENCH INFORMATION RESOURCE CENTRE (FIRC)
The French Information Resource Centre (FIRC) is a lending multimedia library and resource centre providing information on France, contemporary French and francophone culture.
Founded in 1999 and located within the compound of the Cultural Services of the French Embassy, the FIRC has gained popularity with now over 25,000 visitors and 50,000 loans every year.
The FIRC has over 17,500 documents (books and comic books), 2226 DVDs, 1,730 audio CDs, 300 CD-Roms, 100 titles of French press, and a great number of reference books on France with about more than 25% of its collection is in English.
The French Resource Centre provides services like:

- Internet Access
- Electronic journals
- General information on France

- School group visits
It also organises various activities & cultural events, such as:
- Book club in English
- French discussion group
- Lectures on various disciplines (social sciences, arts, literature…)

The French Information Resource Centre in Delhi is also the main Centre of our network of French libraries in India. This network comprises of 13 Alliance Française libraries, all over India, the majority of which are computerised and offer about 90,0000 documents of different formats for public of different age groupe.
The FIRC website provides access to the services and resources of the network libraries through the Union Catalogue and through its Inter-Library Loan (ILL) services.
